View the PJS Agenda.
The purpose of this program is to present concepts to build leadership capacity
and organizational competency in the planning and delivery of juvenile services.
The program will enhance the effectiveness of a juvenile unit or the function
of the delivery of juvenile services within a community. The training will
demonstrate and promote exchange of information to encourage interagency
networking to maximize resources within a community. Effective decisions
made to enhance prevention, intervention, and enforcement efforts will be
discussed. The program will also address high-risk victims, child protection
issues, media relations, and child victimization.
Target audience: Law enforcement, including mid-level
managers, juvenile officers, school resources officers. Professionals
from juvenile probation, parole, or court services are encouraged to attend
to enhance their partnership with law enforcement. Professionals
from other social services agencies may be accepted on a case by case basis;
priority would be given to social service workers attending with law enforcement
from their community.
Length of program is 4½ days.
Maximum of 2 participants per agency.
Class size: 40 students.
Course Costs
The tuition, student materials, instructional cost, and double-occupancy lodging (you will be matched with a roommate) will be provided by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
